Keloid removal for Dallas/Fort Worth/Irving
Keloids are lumps of scar tissue that, in certain people, grow beyond the bounds of the original injured skin. The most common site of keloids is on the earlobes. Thus facial plastic surgeons are often called upon for removal of keloids. The goals of the procedure are to restore normal anatomy and, very importantly, prevent regrowth of the keloid.
Dr. Thomason frequently treats keloid scars with surgical excision combined with intralesional kenalog injection. The removal and repair of resulting wounds must be performed in such a way as to minimize risk of recurrence.
